Congratulations to OUM Clinical Student, Parvaneh Bashardoust, on receiving the Robyn Mackay Memorial Student Research Prize, sponsored by OUM Vice Chancellor Athol Mackay in memory of his late wife. Parvaneh and her classmates presented their research at Oceania University of Medicine’s North America MeetUp and Graduation held 20-21 October in Dallas, Texas. This was the University’s first North American student event and graduation ceremony since prior to the pandemic.

Parvaneh’s winning project, “Incidence of COVID-19-Associated Venous Thromboembolism Among Hospitalized Patients in McAllen, Texas, USA, in Late 2021,” was published in Cureus in March 2022. She is pictured with Dr. Ahmed Muhsin, OUM Director of Research.
