How do you keep all students, no matter where they are in the world, up to date with key university updates?
At OUM, we bring everyone together for our University-wide meetings, held about once a quarter, to ensure all students stay in the loop—wherever they may be. These meetings are a chance to catch up on everything from curriculum changes and new faculty to fee updates, clinical placements, and reports on student resources and activities. Think of it as your virtual town hall, packed with all the latest OUM news.
Since these meetings are held via Zoom, they make it easy for students from around the world to join. Students may submit questions ahead of time for the Q&A session or ask questions live in the chat during the meeting. And for those who can’t attend, we record every session and make the link available within the week.
The OUM Student Association (OUMSA) also often shares updates on their activities, and the Regional Deans (Dean for Australia and North America, and Dean for Samoa, American Samoa, Aotearoa New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific) provide reports from their regions. You’ll also frequently hear from the Chief Operating Officer on administrative matters and the Chief Information Officer with the latest IT updates.
University-wide meetings are just one way we stay connected at OUM. We also use Moodle Newsfeed announcements, group emails, Student Information System (SIS) notices, and social media to keep everyone informed. Wherever you are, we ensure you never miss an important update.
