Oceania University of Medicine’s Graduation Ceremony for its Australia/New Zealand/Samoa students was held Saturday, 20 July 2024 at The Customs House in Brisbane, Australia.
Sixteen students were presented with their Medical Degrees by Asiata Professor Satu Viali, Vice Chancellor and were also congratulated by Mrs. Taffy Gould, OUM Founder and Chairman. Eight additional graduates also received their MDs in absentia.
Ceremonial Host for the day’s event was the Vice Chancellor and Acknowledgement of Country was provided by Professor George Stuart, Chief Academic Officer. The Opening Prayer was offered by Dr. George Tuitama, Dean for Samoa, American Samoa, Aotearoa New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific, and the Welcome Address was delivered by Mrs. Gould.
Graduates were led in the Hippocratic Oath by Dr. David Mountford, Associate Dean for Australia, and the Graduate Representative Speech was delivered by Class of 2024 Graduate Dr. Walter Ikealumba.
Each graduate was invited to the stage to receive their degree by Professor Patrick Dewan, Dean for Australia. The 20 July graduates earning their degrees both in person and absentia were:
