OUM Zoom Webinar Event

Are you considering a career in medicine and curious about medical school opportunities in Canada? In this interactive session, you’ll connect with an Oceania University of Medicine Canadian faculty member:

Associate Professor Nicolette McGuire, PhD, Associate Dean for Student Engagement — A Reproductive Endocrinologist, Dr. McGuire originally joined OUM when she and her family lived in British Columbia, beginning as an Endocrinology Lecturer. She was most recently the Director of Research for the Ministry of Health in British Columbia prior to her family’s move to rural Ontario. Dr. McGuire is knowledgeable — and deeply concerned — about Canada’s long-standing physician shortage and is confident that OUM’s unique curriculum may be able to help. She is also familiar with the requirements of many provincial regulatory authorities and their respective pathways to licensure.

A Canadian native who earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Toronto, Dr. Elza Pollak-Christian is OUM’s Director of Clinical Education and Faculty. In addition to her OUM role, Dr. Pollak-Christian is a Pediatric Hospitalist in Orlando, Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Canada, her MD from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in the Cayman Islands, and completed her pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She has prior experience teaching medical students and residents at the University of Oklahoma, Tufts University, and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed an MBA at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Join Dr. McGuire and Dr. Pollak-Christian in June to gain insights into OUM’s innovative MD Program and learn how OUM can help you achieve your dream of becoming a physician in Canada.

NOTE: Q&A time is worked into each session. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions via the chat box throughout the live webinar. Moderators do their best to address each and every question during the session.
