Dr. Okeke brings over twelve years of teaching experience across various educational levels, including secondary, post-secondary, graduate, and medical education. Her teaching journey spans institutions such as Selma City Schools in Selma, Alabama, Concordia College Alabama, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Rasmussen University, and currently OUM. At OUM, she instructs in clinical cases, problem-based learning within the Medical Sciences curriculum, USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 prep courses, and asynchronous mini-cases in the systems-based modules.
Beyond her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Okeke is known for her specialty presentations on medical student anxiety and test-taking anxiety. She is a prolific writer, contributing to publications like Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Black College Today, and the Journal of the Student National Medical Association. Dr. Okeke earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Walden University.
As the SSA Program Manager at OUM, Dr. Okeke plays a pivotal role in ensuring the holistic success of our medical students. The SSA Program is designed to provide personalized support tailored to the unique needs of each student, addressing academic guidance, personal stressors, and life balance.
